Golden Mix, Affection Addict

.Cindy came from the city, where a kind teacher looked after her at a public school. She had puppies there, but the kids wouldn’t leave them alone, so she came to us for what was supposed to be a temporary stay. That was over a year and a half ago — now she’s part of the Farmhouse crew.

She’s one of the most nurturing mothers I’ve ever seen. If you let her out of the fenced area without her pups, she’ll wait by the gate for hours until they’re released so they can go on wild water adventures together. She’s protective and devoted, but also funny — she’ll walk in front of you, block your path, and then flop belly-up demanding affection.

Cindy loves humans, especially children, and craves attention. She tolerates other dogs but doesn’t really enjoy them — her bond is with her kids and with people. She’s not patient with puppies that aren’t hers; motherhood, in her book, ended with her own litter.

She’s clever, affectionate, and submissive with people, but independent with dogs. She grew up in the city, so loud noises and traffic don’t faze her. She’ll happily spend hours stalking frogs in puddles or lying in wait for birds — but given the choice, she’ll always pick people over dogs.
